Privacy Policy

UpFollow.ai ("UpFollow", "we", "us") is an AI follow-up agent for Gmail, built by the team behind MailTracker. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we will never do with it. The short version: we only read your email to find the messages waiting on a reply and to draft your follow-ups. We never sell your data, we never use it for advertising, and we never send anything without your approval.
1. Data we collect
- Account data. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account.
- Gmail data. When you connect Gmail, UpFollow reads the emails you sent to detect threads still waiting on a reply, and reads those threads' content to draft a follow-up in your voice. Follow-ups you approve are created and sent through your own Gmail account.
- Billing data. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — only your subscription status and invoices.
- Usage data. Standard product analytics (pages viewed, features used) and server logs, plus a small tracking pixel in follow-ups your agent sends, used only to detect opens so your agent knows when to stop or nudge.
2. How we use Google user data (Limited Use)
UpFollow's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Concretely, your Gmail data is used only to provide the features you see in the product: detecting unanswered emails, drafting follow-ups, and sending the ones you approve from your own account. We do not:
- use Gmail data for advertising, or transfer it to advertisers or data brokers;
- use Gmail data to train general-purpose AI or machine-learning models;
- allow humans to read your email, except with your explicit permission for support, for security purposes, or where required by law.
3. AI processing
Follow-up drafts are generated by a large language model (Anthropic's Claude, via the Anthropic API). Relevant thread excerpts are sent to the model solely to produce your draft and are processed under API terms that do not permit training on your data. Every draft is a suggestion — nothing is sent until you approve it.
4. Service providers (subprocessors)
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Sign-in, Gmail API, site analytics & ads measurement (gtag) | |
| Supabase | Authentication and database hosting |
| Composio | Managed Gmail OAuth connection |
| Anthropic | AI drafting of your follow-ups |
| Stripe | Payments and subscriptions |
| Railway | Application hosting |
| Resend | Transactional email (digests, account notices) |
Each provider only receives the minimum data needed for its role and is bound by its own data-processing terms.
5. Data retention & deletion
- Disconnect anytime. You can disconnect Gmail from the app, or revoke UpFollow's access from your Google Account permissions. Once revoked, we can no longer read anything.
- Delete your account. Email us and we will delete your account and associated data (detected threads, drafts, feedback) within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or billing reasons.
- We keep only what the product needs: thread references, drafts, and scheduling state — not a copy of your mailbox.
6. Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and never exposed to your browser. Access to production systems is restricted to the founding team and audited.
7. Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and Google's gtag cookies on the marketing site to measure how people find us. We do not run third-party ad trackers inside the app.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email us and we will honor it. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
9. Changes & contact
If we materially change this policy we will post the update here and, for significant changes, notify you by email. Questions or requests: [email protected].
